8/19/04 Almost every year there has been one brush with celebrity for the BB houseguests (or at least one)...

In Big Brother One Curtis got to attend the Emmy Awards.

In Big Brother Two, by many considered the best season, the closest the houseguest got to celebrity was the helicopter ride that Will and Bunky took (In future seasons the HGs won trips outside the house as well - a sailing trip and a Blimp ride).

In Big Brother Three Sherly Crow treated the HGs to a 3 song concert in the backyard.

And in Big Brother Four Jun attended the MTV Music Video Awards.

Expect Julie to announce a new brush with celebrity on the live show tonight.  One houseguest will make some type of appearance on the CBS Soap "The Young and the Restless."  The decision will be up to America - or rather those that choose to call in and vote.  In previous years there has been a charge to vote - since this is the first "America's Choice" this year I don't know if that will be the case but I assume it will be.
 

Now Jase is probably kicking himself since he is not eligible (but he would not have won anyways).  My pick would have to be Michael aka "Cowboy" who always seems to have time to talk about show business with anyone willing to listen. The call-in will end at midnight this Saturday so I would think that the HG will leave Sunday night or Monday morning and return Monday evening - he/she will need to be present for any contests so Big Brother might shake up the normal Monday veto ceremony to accomidate that - or the date for the appearance might be another day.

"The winner of "America's Choice" will be blindfolded and brought from the Big Brother 5 house to the set of The Young and the Restless. They will appear in scenes set at the Genoa City Athletic Club with longtime fan favorites Michelle Stafford and Christian LeBlanc, who play two of the soap's biggest schemers, Phyllis and Michael. 

On the Big Brother 5 live show, Thursday, Aug. 26, the HouseGuests will view the episode and critique the winner's performance. The Y&R episode featuring the HouseGuest will be broadcast Monday, Aug. 30. "
