| Thumper | Saturday, August 04, 2001 - 12:09 pm Looks like Kent is livid that Monica will be getting cigarettes because of the luxury competition. He's very angry. |
| Shrinkingviolet | Saturday, August 04, 2001 - 12:20 pm What's the deal with Hardy automatically winning the luxury comeptition and getting new sneakers because he's Head of Household? Did Kent get anything out of the music competition last week? I can't remember back to the luxury competitions when Krista and Mike were HoH. It seems a little unfair. |
| Paulyace | Saturday, August 04, 2001 - 12:28 pm How soon before Kent threatens to walk out? |
| Bamagirl | Saturday, August 04, 2001 - 12:28 pm The only thing Kent got was pictures from home...which Hardy and others have gotten. Kent was told he would get smokes if he won HOH...but then was told no. How can CBS turn around and give Monica 100 bucks worth of cigs? I do not blame Kent for being upset over this...I really think it is unfair. Hardy gets more protein bars ... he still eating from his first HOH. Just not fair!!! |
| Edno67 | Saturday, August 04, 2001 - 12:34 pm It is really unfair to kent and I think BB doesn't want thier pretty boy to get upset and show his true side as he has done on occasion, for not getting his stuff like they did with kent. |
| Grooch | Saturday, August 04, 2001 - 12:39 pm Can anybody list the winners of HOH and what they received each week? Then maybe we can see if there is favoritism or not. |
| Scarlett | Saturday, August 04, 2001 - 12:45 pm Kent has a right to be peeved. There was no way that if Hardy had been HOH he would not have gotten CD's. Seems like Lisa is in Luuuuvveeee/ |
| Sfnative | Saturday, August 04, 2001 - 12:45 pm I think it may be unfair on purpose. BB is pushing buttons right and left trying to stir the pot. The temperature is always messed up, the hot tub is too hot or not hot enough. The houseguests are told something is going to happen at one time and it happens two hours later. Locked down inside, locked down outside...usually at times that catch the guest wrong footed and really needing either the bathroom or a cigerette. BB is BIG BROTHER...the hamsters are just the fools on the excercise wheel. BB really doesn't have to explain anything to anyone. |
| Bb_Jammer | Saturday, August 04, 2001 - 12:49 pm There is nothing fair about this version of Big Brother. Its not the same as BB1, not even close. This is truly orwellian. There is no reason to expect fairness. |
| Whit4you | Saturday, August 04, 2001 - 01:25 pm Last weeks luxury competition Kent did not automatically get the luxury he had to compete and he lost it. The first weeks luxury competition was for them to get use of the hot tub - the hoh did not automaticall get that - they all had to win it. The last time Hardy was HOH he did not have to win the luxury challenge - because the comp was to get their cloths washed outside, but HoH already comes iwth a maid service so he got his done either way |
| Whatsitsay | Saturday, August 04, 2001 - 01:26 pm Sfnative, you're absolutely right. I saw an interview with Arnold Shapiro at the beginning of the game, and he came right out and said they are deliberately setting things up to keep the HGs off balance. The other thing to consider is this. The rest of the HGs are convinced that Kent cheated on the HOH challenge. More than one of them has said they saw him taking a step down when Mike took a step up, and that Kent changed the way he was going to do what Mike was doing. Maybe the producers saw him do this, but instead of giving HoH to Mike they simply skimped on Kent's HOH perks as a penalty. |
| Jojo | Saturday, August 04, 2001 - 01:27 pm When Krista was HOH the luxury competition was the Bull Ride with a Texas style BBQ. Krista got to eat with the girls that won. When Hardy was HOH is was the changing the clothes competition and Hardy got his laundry done with the rest of them. Didn't matter because he got his laundry done as HOH anyway. When Mike was HOH it was the find the keys in the oatmeal pool. All houseguests got to use the hot tub. |
| Grooch | Saturday, August 04, 2001 - 01:39 pm Thanks Whit. At least now I understand the HOH has to win it and that it is not automatic. |
| Paulyace | Saturday, August 04, 2001 - 03:00 pm I wonder if this could be a deliberate attempt of some sort by BB to get Kent to take a voluntary exit and thus have to forfeit his gas-guzzler of a car. Everyone seems to be pressing his buttons, and I wouldn't blame him if he took the exit. It would be honor over a lack of class...imagine the book he could write about BB behind the scenes....LOL |
| Rainbowz | Saturday, August 04, 2001 - 03:32 pm It may be ugly in there, but Kent's not about to walk out, no matter how hard the buttons are pushed. He's certainly aware that he's out next Thursday, so from this point on, he simply has to ignore the pokes and prods of BB and the other HGs and just coast to vote day. He still has 3 important goals to meet and walking out would nuke all of them: 1) He needs to finish the game to get his stipend 2) He needs to finish the game to get the van 3) He needs to finish the game to vote for (or against, more accurately) whoever is left at the end. That's 3 ginormous carrots to get him to hang on for a couple more days. He is quite capable of just lettign the poop fly and simply keeping his eye on the door next Thursday. |
| Ocean_Islands | Saturday, August 04, 2001 - 03:38 pm They are trying to keep the houseguests from getting too comfortable. Last year, all the houseguests were comfortable, and had a great vacation, and weren't very conflict-ridden for us viewers. So instead they got boring people with nothing interesting to say, threw in lots of conflict, so they fight like rats in a cage. Which would you rather have, interesting people or interesting conflict? |
| Euterpe | Saturday, August 04, 2001 - 04:10 pm Kent is now sounding a lot like Autum. I am getting tired of his whining. I don't see any way he will not be voted out this week. He has now totally alienated himself from the other HGs. It's just ironic that the others are so put out because he lied to them and yet they all are lying to each other. Except for maybe Will, they're all two faced. At least Will admits he's just playing a game, and he'll lie if it's to his advantage. I'm getting sick of the whole bunch. I would love to see Bunky win HoH next week. He may not have the balls to nominate Krista and Hardy though, but I'd like to find out. |
| Paulyace | Saturday, August 04, 2001 - 04:19 pm Rainbowz: I don't think he'll walk. But if he did, think of it this way. If he walked out, he has a story for the media, maybe even a book for all the "reality show bashers" that would pay his stipend and pay him enough to give his wife a car. As far the vote at the end, if he really feels this way, why should he care? Sometimes, the best thing to do is to walk away. It would be a heckuva message for one man to tell a media giant like CBS to go shove it. |
| Shtitan | Saturday, August 04, 2001 - 04:37 pm Euterpe, if what he's doing is whining then there's no way you could tell me you wouldn't "whine" if you were in the house and treated the way he has been. |
| Misslibra | Saturday, August 04, 2001 - 04:54 pm Well remember Krista complaining about Kent getting 4 16oz Coors beers while he was HOH and her having a fit about it, because she didn't get that when she was HOH. I agree with some of the above statements about BB pushing their buttons on purpose. They don't want it to be a never-never-land in there like it was last year. And so far never-never-land it ain't. |
| Seamonkey | Sunday, August 05, 2001 - 02:12 pm And Kent got a car.. that is worth way more than all other luxury prizes combined.. talk about unfair. Life isn't even. Life isn't fair. |
| Zeb | Sunday, August 05, 2001 - 11:13 pm Yet Kent continues to suck in his own special way. |
