| Rissa | Thursday, August 16, 2001 - 09:48 am Ahh Eddiesleg, I get it now. It will be a comedy. |
| Jt25 | Thursday, August 16, 2001 - 09:51 am This is a joke right? She will never have a mini series unless its part of America's Most Wanted <edited by ryn for content> |
| Maggierain | Thursday, August 16, 2001 - 09:58 am this is a sad thread IMO |
| Eddiesleg | Thursday, August 16, 2001 - 10:03 am Aus...My version was the very embellished Hollywood ending. Thereby requiring the disclaimer in the credits "Based on a true life story." YOURS is what will actually happen...requiring no disclaimer. You'd have to strap me in and prop open my eyes with toothpicks to sit through either version. |
| Efilon | Thursday, August 16, 2001 - 10:05 am This, from the Nicole in it for the social experiment thread from 3 days ago. Sunday, August 12, 2001 - 07:02 am -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- "Social experiment my eye! Krista did tell her she didn't believe it. So after this Social Experiment I wonder if she'll write a book about it, after the three year contract with BB is over?" I'm assuming this means Nicole might write a book about the "social experiment". I don't know where this person first learned of the three year contract but this sounds like they all have a three year contract with CBS but I have read many posts saying that CBS has control over what they do for the next year. So, which is it? Or does anyone really even know? Another mountain out of a mole hill because it's Krista? |
| Eddiesleg | Thursday, August 16, 2001 - 10:07 am Maggie, it's a sad thread for a sad topic for a sad lifestyle. I just wanted to add that Krista's life seems to paralell Roseanne Barr's to a certain extent (who btw also had a made for tv story of her life). The only difference being that Roseanne over came the odds and did something with her life. Krista has yet to that. |
| Rissa | Thursday, August 16, 2001 - 10:12 am If anyone is interested, I found a link to Krista's hometown newspaper with a more complete story re: her dad's death. There isn't a single word that it was anything but unjustifiable murder. http://www.zwire.com/news/newsstory.cfm?newsid=2186271&BRD=1011&PAG=461 |
| Northernlad | Thursday, August 16, 2001 - 10:19 am Yeah there's something I'd want to watch...NOT! I can see the title now: "It's Awwwwn: The Krista Story" Summary: Story of one woman's life, dealing with family hardships and a terrible Nyquil addiction. I've seen enough thank you very much. |
| Carddlr | Thursday, August 16, 2001 - 10:20 am Eddiesleg!! That was my exact thought, three posts into this thread = Roseanne Barr has to be in here somewhere!! But at least Roseanne had paid her dues on the comedy circuit which is no small fete. |
| Simonshado | Thursday, August 16, 2001 - 11:46 am So what's this Hallmark Hall of Fame production going to be called? KRUSTA of Green Giblets? |
| Edno67 | Thursday, August 16, 2001 - 11:51 am She might make it on Jerry Springer movie part DUH! over the niquil cap |
| Seanflynn | Thursday, August 16, 2001 - 11:51 am The key question here is whether Krista's story about having CBS bought her story rights for 3 years is A) true and B) unique to her situation. If they do see the potential of a movie, it obviously has more appeal if she wins, therefore making them try to enhance her position among the HGs and with the audience. |
| Voyeur | Thursday, August 16, 2001 - 12:31 pm Do they refer to 5 year olds as toddlers in Louisiana? And isn't her sister Kelly older than her? And she's also referred to as a toddler in the story? That's kinda weird. |
| Rissa | Thursday, August 16, 2001 - 12:42 pm If Krista just turned 29 last month then she was born July of 1872 which would make her 5 when her dad died in July of 1877. Perhaps her sister is younger and it was just easier for the reporter to call them both toddlers. I would call a toddler anyone from age 1 to 3 and then a preschooler ages 4 and 5 but I don't think there is any grand conspiracy about the paper using the term as they did. |
| Cigartop | Thursday, August 16, 2001 - 12:46 pm Uh .. Rissa, you do mean 1972 and 1977 don't you? Please say "yes!" |
| Rissa | Thursday, August 16, 2001 - 12:48 pm RFLOL!!!! I have been spending too much time in the 1800's with my research. YES!!!! I meant this century. |
| Nancy | Thursday, August 16, 2001 - 12:49 pm LOL rissa 1972 is NOT this century sweetie.. ;) |
| Cigartop | Thursday, August 16, 2001 - 12:51 pm Someone ought to remind Krista that NBC promised David Letterman the TONIGHT SHOW ... and look how far that got him |
| Rissa | Thursday, August 16, 2001 - 12:52 pm Ok Nancy, now that was just mean. I am flipping screens btn this board and the Birth indexes for Shoreditch, England and my brain is not focussing on either one. Think it's time for another shot of caffiene. LOL |
| Nancy | Thursday, August 16, 2001 - 12:54 pm lol rissa..sounds like fun tho--its is geneological reasearch(ok i know off-topic) but what the hay... |
| Bbvoyeur | Thursday, August 16, 2001 - 01:51 pm Let's face it. This mini series thing is just another one of Krista's lies. According the live feed posting right after Krista came out of the DR (8/12/01 @ 10:27 PM) Krista talking about vol exit. BB telling her not to do it. "It would be in your best interest not to". basically I got the jest there's a lot out there. About recognition when you leave instead of going out in the middle of the night. This mini-series thing is just something she made up to brag to Monica about. |
| Cigartop | Thursday, August 16, 2001 - 01:57 pm I think that CBS explained to her that they own the license on "her" for whatever period of time (some say 3 years). She asked what that meant and they said, oh we can do a mini-series on your life, or use u as a guest on some of our shows, or a movie of the week. She naturally assumed she was gonna be the next superstar! |
| Bbvoyeur | Thursday, August 16, 2001 - 02:02 pm At this point I do not believe anything Krista says that can not be verified by at least three impartial witnesses. |
