The ClubHouse: Big Brother Archives: Will's video message to Shannon from tonite's show...
| Webkitty | Thursday, August 23, 2001 - 06:58 am Fruitbat, I'm on webtv! Will reminds me of my son too. Mine is an over achiever but slightly ADD and very adept in social situations, "impish" would just about be right. No little 13 year old girl here. Of course, MY son has a heart of gold! (gush) |
| Chubbycheeks | Thursday, August 23, 2001 - 08:17 am i think that will does have a crush on shannon. but when they are in the real world- they probably wont have much to talk about. |
| Sanfranjoshfan | Thursday, August 23, 2001 - 08:31 am I just read this thread and just *had* to see if the automatic word censoring system would turn that word into a series of red dots. (It seems like a rather innoucuous reference to me, and not even particularly crude or vulgar...mainly just funny!) Here goes.... POONTANG Now that wasn't so bad was it? LOL |
| Allyg8r | Thursday, August 23, 2001 - 08:33 am I'm glad I started this thread - gives insight into peoples' perceptions of Will - during and post-Chilltown. I, too, did not like him then - and find myself liking him more and more. He's entertaining - which is the point of the show, right? Doesn't take anything too seriously or personally like some of the others (Bunky and his eternal tears; Hardy and his soul searching) - but periodically demonstrates some seemingly felt emotions... GO WILL!!! <the gator ducks to avoid being hit by all of the anti-Will tomato throwing posters....> |
| Fruitbat | Thursday, August 23, 2001 - 08:42 am Hypermom...I think Will was guilty by association only. He was never mean that I can remember either. I genuinely like him. Humor is my heart hook and he has snagged me. |
| Fruitbat | Thursday, August 23, 2001 - 08:48 am duplicate |
| Fruitbat | Thursday, August 23, 2001 - 08:49 am I thought the same thing Sanfran then noticed you had tried it. We can say shit, friggin and f*ck. Certainly that old antiquated, Rusty Warren era poontang would be fine. |
| Seamonkey | Thursday, August 23, 2001 - 09:09 am I think Will is cute and highly entertaining from this distance and with the ability to walk away from TV and computer. Fruitbat, my friend, I sorta bet if he bashed your legs with one of those cars you'd not be using the word "mischievous". omg.. I used spellcheck.. never do that.. you all should try it with Fruitbat and see the choices you get (including Fruitcake) |
| Onlyhuman | Thursday, August 23, 2001 - 11:16 am Now, I have confessed that I have been a Will fan since the early days, but please don't delude yourself that the Will you see today is any different than the Will at the very beginning. It is simply that you have shifted your perceptions of all the parties involved. He is still making the same derogatory comments about the HGs, but now he is making them to US, through the diary room, instead of to Mike and Shannon. Instead of feeling like his evil "Heathers" group is attacking those poor defenseless "real people", you see him as the outcast, who is trying to survive the "Power of 2". With the realization that the "real people" were actually just as capable of lying and manipulating, his actions no longer seem so heinous. He had the same sense of humor and fun with Mike and Shannon, most people refused to see that because CT was considered "evil". Like all of the HGs, Will came in a complex individual with strengths and flaws. Most people are finally focusing on his positive aspects, rather than seeing only the negative. |
| Peachie | Thursday, August 23, 2001 - 11:33 am When Shannon was around I didnt even see much of Will cause him and Shannon were under the covers 16 hours out of the day. LOL I see lots more of him now and the more I see the more I like him. ;o) |
| Bijoux | Thursday, August 23, 2001 - 11:39 am Here I thought I was the only one that thought that Will really hasn't changed. While I concede that Will does have a sense of fun, I am not a Will fan. He really egged on Shannon to behave badly when they were both nominated and, in my opinion, the difference now is that there is no one around that he can egg on to disrupt the household. We don't see the disruptions any more so now he is just a mischevious child. The man is 27 years old, time to grow up Peter Pan. Maybe its just me, but I believe that when you truly care for someone, you don't encourage him or her to engage in destructive behaviour. I do believe that Will knew what the consequences would be for Shannon, not just in terms of being voted out but also to her reputation. He is very astute on this. But hey it protected Will and kept the focus off of him. |
| Woodpecker | Thursday, August 23, 2001 - 11:42 am Blaming Will for Shannon's behavior is simply a weak attempt to excuse her behavior. That analysis is simply incorrect. |
| Bijoux | Thursday, August 23, 2001 - 11:50 am You're right, Shannon is responsible for her own behavior. I just don't see anything cute or funny in the behavior Will also exhibited at that time. Saying that it was just Shannon and Mike's bad influence on Will is an equally weak attempt to excuse Will's behavior in my opinion. Since this thread is also considering the sincereity of Will's profession of love however I don't believe that he is in love with her (maybe lust? I do believe that he is attracted to her and likes her). |
| Fruitbat | Thursday, August 23, 2001 - 11:52 am I agree Onlyhuman and and we seem to now be seeing the negative in those we thought were stellar in the beginning. There was a study done. The same college professor taught the same course to two different groups of students. With one group he started out being very tough and stern. The other he started out as the nice guy. His personality and teaching style was exactly the same in both, he only changed his initial approach. The student reviews showed glowing reports in the class where he started out being the "bad guy" and lower scores with the softer touch. Maybe we enjoy coming to discover someone underneath a not so pleasant exterior rather than having our high expectations dashed. |
| Woodpecker | Thursday, August 23, 2001 - 11:55 am He is probably in lust with her, and it would be wise for him to wear armor and have his own medicine cabinet should they ever choose to get married. 2000 flushes is not good for your gums. |
| Allyg8r | Thursday, August 23, 2001 - 12:16 pm Hmm.. you guys all certainly feel strongly about your Will opinions. As for me, well, I never said that I thought he had changed - just that I enjoy watching him more now - Perhaps because he is more entertaining, and perhaps because he doesn't have the oh-so-annoying traits of some of the others... Bunky's crying is making me nuts, and as many of you have also mentioned in another thread - Nicole's "oneupmanship" is equally annoying... As for love, well...time will tell. Though it WOULD be fun to know what happened to Shannon and Jim.... JMHO |
| Onlyhuman | Thursday, August 23, 2001 - 12:17 pm Fruitbat, I am a great believer in the low expectations philosophy of life. You know, hope for the best, expect the worst. I hope that Will really cares about Shannon and she cares about him. I hope that they are able to get to know each other better and discover they have what it takes to make it work. I expect that they will realize that this relationship was begun under bizarre circumstances and will quickly move on to other people. |
| Fantasyisland | Thursday, August 23, 2001 - 12:36 pm Since tv is for entertainment and I like to be entertained. I find Will histerical. When he told Nicole he would make her feel better by making peanut brittle (since they're on restricted diet), I cracked up. Now that's a good sense of humor. |
| Hardyisahottie | Thursday, August 23, 2001 - 03:37 pm I doubt Will LOVES Shannon like he said. The guy is stuck in a house with no outside contact and he's probably just obsessing about her cause she was the last one he had any sort of sexual contact with. I doubt the Shannon/Will romance is gonna go any where. However, I do think he was cute when he was making the tape to her. He is adorable in a strange sorta warped way. |
| Campfire | Thursday, August 23, 2001 - 04:27 pm I've just never believed that Will cares for Shannon at all. It seems like he's been playing her only to get her vote in the end. He even got to stay in the house by letting her take the fall. That's probably why he never stops laughing, he finds it funny how those people are so easily duped. This guy is a good looking, personable doctor, I can't belive that he doesn't have a best friend other than Mike Boogie or knows a girl more stable than Shannon. He'll forget these people the minute he's back with his cronies. All that aside I've had a mad crush on Will from the start, but I have no illusions that he's not just in it for himself. He's 'the' player, it really is a game to him, that's why he's not all stressed to tears. But Will and Shannon aren't likely to go any farther than Josh and Brit ever did. |
| Missy2 | Thursday, August 23, 2001 - 04:54 pm I think Will loves shannon's thong.. !! After seeing shannon flip like a nutjob I think that Will looked a little ify w/ her. I believe his only reason for standing by her is a BRILLIANT one... $500k! GO WILL |
| Onlyhuman | Thursday, August 23, 2001 - 05:14 pm Quote:But Will and Shannon aren't likely to go any farther than Josh and Brit ever did.
hmmm...from the sounds I heard on the feeds, I thought Shannon & Will already had gone farther than Josh & Britt ever did. Oh, you're talking about a relationship. Sorry... |
| Sfnative | Thursday, August 23, 2001 - 06:33 pm Fruitbat, "Rusty Warren"? Can anyone say "Knockers up"? |
| Smileeys | Thursday, August 23, 2001 - 11:19 pm I really enjoyed reading all your posts about Will. He is the main reason I watch and he cracks me up, too. I actually think he does get nervous (for instance while making the tape) even though it is hard to believe that he would because he doesn't seem to have that personality. He is just too funny. I really wish I had the live feeds because it sounds like he took Nicole's "advice" to heart and has been pulling out all the stops to entertain everyone and I want to see his haircut! I have webtv, too, WebKitty, and my computer monitor konked out. |
| Fruitbat | Friday, August 24, 2001 - 05:24 am Sfnative........ we are showing our age. |
| Mellbell415 | Friday, August 24, 2001 - 07:08 am I dunno - Will is entertaining, yes, but I am not sure I'd want him anywhere in my life! You guys are right that he doesn't take anything personally or emotionally as the others. He's already said that he doesn't feel like he has many emotions in him, and that he is bit of a robot. If he doesn't react to things emotionally, how can he empathize with others who do and therefore to reduce his negative impact on others? He not only sees the game as a game, but also life as a game. This means that he likes to stir the pot, with the sharpest utensil that he can find. At first, he had a whole lot of dang sharp utensils - Shannon,Mike and used them well to deflect attention off himself. Now he's down to wooden spoons - he's tried to turn Nicole against Hardy but failed, so he stirs it up by crashing remote cars into everyone and breaking whatever rules he can think of. He's actually restraining himself a lot because of $$$$$ in his eyes, so he comes across as being pretty charming, but is it real? Now you might think it is kinda cute that he likes to mess around with people's minds, but remember that his favorite thing is to control and manipulate others (remember the group fast way back when?) and if he doesn't feel much emotion except glee, this means that there might not be many controls on his behavior. So, the toll that his actions can take on others could be pretty severe. Especiallly when there's no 500 000$$ to keep him in line. Sure you could say that he seems to be redeeming himself lately with all the Krista regret. I dunno about that - lasted a day or two to try and get votes back and then he's back to his normal self. |
