The ClubHouse: Big Brother Archives: Final HOH Competition Rules
| Hampsterfan | Thursday, August 23, 2001 - 12:08 pm August 23, 2001 by JT5292 & Editor - RealityTVfans.com One of our members has emailed Arnold Shapiro Productions to see if she could find out how the Head of Household competitions go from here on out, as it seems to be a question on everyone’s mind. We do not know if their replies are significant, at this time, but we’re looking into it. The sender’s comments are in brackets. The transcript follows. [I emailed ASP Productions to find out how the Head of Household competitions go from here on out. I wanted to know if someone COULD win Head of Household twice in a row & how the voting goes when there is only 4. I got the following email back, but they only answered half my question so I emailed them again to find out the rest & will post that if I get anything. Here's what I got so far.] Hi, We've gotten dozens of e-mails about this today and I don't know why --- we have never changed a BB2 rule (despite rumors to the contrary) and we don't plan to unless extremely unexpected circumstances make it necessary to do so. As always, a Houseguest CANNOT be HoH twice in a row --- however, for our FINAL HoH competition, ALL HOUSEGUESTS WILL BE ABLE TO COMPETE, even the one who was just HoH. I hope this answers your question; if not, feel free to write back. And PLEASE, spread the word on what you've been told, straight from the production company's mouth! Thanks, Janine/Big Brother 2 [As I went to cut & paste that letter here, there was another one from ASP. Here it is-] Sorry, but we haven't released the details of the final few votes yet. Stay tuned! [I emailed them again trying to get the rules of the voting but all I got was this-] I understand your request, but as I said, we haven't yet announced anything about the last few votes. Sorry. [It is aggravating to me that they just can't tell you what the rules are. There is absolutely no reason why they can't tell how the voting goes. It wouldn't affect "The Game". I didn't ask them to give me the names of the final 4 houseguests. I just wanted to know how the voting process goes.] So why can’t the public know the rules of the game? Don’t we have a right to? RealityTVfans.com will keep you posted on what we find out. Stay tuned. |
| Franny | Thursday, August 23, 2001 - 12:11 pm Maybe they want to leave some options open to throw in some spoiler competions if the ratings go down? At least I hope this is why.. |
| Webkitty | Thursday, August 23, 2001 - 12:17 pm Hampsterfan, thanks for posting that. I agree with you, WHY can't we know how the final voting will go? UHG, this has been bothering me from the beginning, I don't know why. I guess to keep up interest and speculation? It must have to do with ratings. I guess we'll all find out together! |
| Ryn | Thursday, August 23, 2001 - 12:58 pm I imagine they have not decided yet..... |
| Ewing2001 | Thursday, August 23, 2001 - 01:06 pm A rule which will be decided on last minute stinks..and this time i meant that very angry. Sorry! |
| Webkitty | Thursday, August 23, 2001 - 01:10 pm Don't be sorry Ewing! This is very "fishy" that we can't know how the end will go. |
| Hampsterfan | Friday, August 24, 2001 - 06:58 am So Where are the Answers? by Jacalynn West - RealityTVfans.com What are the rules for Big Brother 2? I don't know. The Houseguests don't know. I asked Arnold Shapiro Productions (ASP), the producers of Big Brother 2, and they say they won't tell yet. Do they even know? Why shouldn't we know? What difference could it possibly make? Nicole said during her Head of Household reign that she asked Big Brother in the Diary Room about the Head of Household competitions, and was told that it was anyone's game from here on out. Then, it changed. ASP Productions told me (via email today) that "they have never changed the rules (contrary to popular opinion) and no one can win Head of Household twice in a row, except for the final competition when everyone is eligible." I looked around on the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) website, but it is very hard to decipher. It may as well be in Greek, for me anyway. I wanted to know the rules and regulations for game shows. The closest thing I found was a category titled: Licensee-conducted Contests Licensees that broadcast or advertise information concerning a contest that they conduct must fully and accurately disclose the material terms of the contest and must conduct the contest substantially as announced or advertised. Contest descriptions may not be false, misleading or deceptive with respect to any material term. Material terms include those factors that define the operation of the contest and affect participation therein. 47 CFR 73.1216 Does this refer to game shows? I'm not sure. I have emailed several people at the FCC requesting the rules and regulations for game shows. At this time, I have not heard back from them. I also emailed ASP and told them that I was going to ask the FCC for the rules and regulations. I have not heard back from them either. |
| Gallee | Saturday, August 25, 2001 - 09:29 am This is crazy, no voting rules yet for the rest of the game? With the rescheduling ,this past week, then this, I am losing interest all together. |
