I would be so happy if they invented an exercise machine you could sit on while reading live feeds (and occasionally posting too). I would be sooo incredibly fit and slim!

I'm trying to figure out a way to parachute into the BB yard & box Hardy between the ears. :)

But seriously, folks, I'm in my office, writing a column.

note to self - must invest in that thigh master thingie.

I've seen this thing that has electrodes that hook up to your body, kinda like an EKG machine.....then it supposedly bounces? off that fat......I'm thinking this looks like a wise investment at this point.....I'll share it with ya

That sounds JUST up my alley Aus! Passive exercise done without moving. I wouldn't miss a single live feed then!

Would you believe I am canning peaches and swearing at the sametime because the stone doesn't separate from the fruit? I am livid. So I'm delurking to let go of my frustration with them.

I usually have the feeds on while doing other things around the house, checking the discussion boards, etc. Today, as I was enjoying watching the food challenge, I kept watching the clock waiting for my 11-yr-old son to get home. Kept looking out the window and listening for the school bus. The buses have been running late due to construction at the school, so only one bus can get in at a time. Well, I saw one of his friends walking by and knew something wasn't right. Grabbed the phone, called the school. They said he's not in the office, then they do an "all call", he's no where to be found. Then they tell me that I have to call bus transportation office to see if they know where he is. When I get through to them, they tell me that they changed bus #'s today and someone should have told him that yesterday. They are on the radio calling drivers, searching for my son. No one has him. I'm already on the verge of a nervous breakdown, crying. They take my name, #, etc. Tell me to call the school back. I kept trying, no one answers at the school. I'm in a panic and call my husband at the MP station, the desk Sgt. who answers wants to chat. I tell him it's an emergency. He goes to find hubby, can't find him, comes back and tells me, he'll have him call right away. Hubby was issuing weapons to the on coming MP's, I keep trying to call the school, no answer, so hubby calls...I'm freaking out, crying. While I'm telling hubby what's going on, the phone beeps, and switch over and it's my son. (THANK GOD) He's crying, telling me they changed the bus and he didn't know and come get him. I scribble on a post-it to stick on the door, so my 16-yr-old will know where I am cause he was due home. Get to the school, get my baby. I'm still crying, grab my baby and hug him. And find out from him that he was told he wasn't allowed to go back in the school to use the phone until the end of business day, and that they would call parents at 4:10 for those who missed a bus, he called me at 4:45. The only reason he got to go in and call was because a teacher came out and saw him sitting by the door crying. I wanted to go in and YELL at them, but had to rush home for my other son. Get home, hubby calls back and wants the # to the school. He calls, speaks with the principal, who apologized over and over and says it WILL NEVER happen again. Well, I know it won't happen again, cause as of tomorrow I will take him to and from school.

Oh Bbrock, that sounds horrible. I'm so glad your son was okay in the end (though understandably upset). I hope you all have a good evening now.

I can't get updates at work, I'd get fired for using the internet for personal use. So I have to catch up every night on the activity in the house.

Since I didn't subscribe to the feeds, while I wait for the live feed postings, I have Solitare Master 101 games plus I can create my own. I also have two cats that have to walk in front of me to let me know "Hey we are here, remember us?" One has to continally climb on my shoulder, the other likes to walk across the keyboard and back and forth in front of the screen. Would make for some interesting posts if I didn't fix them. LOL!

Of course there's the usual, get the online bills paid and the banking taken care of and balance the old check book. The fun never ends.

Bbrock, what a terrifying experience! The panic is horrible and my heart is with you. When my son was in 3rd grade the police interrupted my busy phone line to inform me that my son had been taken by ambulance from a bus accident on his way to school. Thank God it was minor and all the children on the bus and the driver were alright... but the heart wrenching fear when it involves your children is the most awful feeling in the world! I hope you all let the administration of the school have it!

On a lighter note... my activity of choice right now is simulcasting my nephew's performance in the American Legion World Series play by play. It gives me a great reason to be in front of the computer and I get to be the proud, glowing aunt, although I am that all World Series or not! And since they won their first game today..I just had to share it in this thread. :)
