What would have been VERY interesting would be to give HOH to the nominated houseguest who didn't get evicted.
First, if you do that, there is a new dynamic to alliances. If you nominate 2 from an opposing faction, you increase your own exposure. If you nominate a friend, you run the risk of losing the friend AND power.
Then you have the potential for "Instant Karma". Hardy nominates Will and Shannon, and Will can try to get his revenge immediately.
Finally, there's no question about the fairness of the competitions. Every houseguest would have the chance to be HOH, because everyone has the chance to be nominated.
All you need is one truly fair way to select the first HOH, and the rest takes care of itself.
The only questionable part is what happens when you're down to 4. The non-evicted nominee is guaranteed to be in the final 2. That, of course, would make that nomination even more interesting. |

I love that idea Shark...another way would have been to play games of chance not games of skill. This way no one has an edge it's just luck. Save the games of skill for Survivor where they need to be skilled and strong to survive. No one could claim unfairness and no one could have been eliminated for being too strong or too weak. |

Your method of selecting HOH was discussed here after the first nominations. No one was sure how the selection of HOH was going to to and all kinds of ideas were thrown out. I think that your method would be one of the more exciting ways to do it. Maybe next year. |

My idea for when it gets down to the last 3 house guest is to have America's Choice. We would get to choose 1 of the final 2 that way. And the 1 we pick could choose who stands beside them for the final vote. |

There is some risk involved, but it could help create even more power in fewer hands. |

Lord knows I hate suggeting anything that would help increase how much $$$ CBS makes on this but how about this for another idea.
One of our endless complaints, and a rightful one, is how boring it is in there and how short the competitions are (versus endless backgammon games). Why not make it a multi-day, multi-event HoH competition. First have one like they have now to choose from inside the house. Then let's have a phone in vote like last year. That will give us 2 HoH finalists. Then they can have a final comp to see who gets it. We stand a 50/50 chance of having someone we want as HoH, so will feel more a part of the game. It will give them more to do. And hopefully give us more interesting things to watch.
But I do also like the idea on the table. Certainly would be more interesting than what we have now. |

...just another thought here that since the non evicted nominee is already packed, it's just a step into the HOH room to get their new stuff..How convenient this would be all the way around.
And another thought on this...Mike would have really been in trouble that second week with Nicole as HOH....LMAO. |

Keep in mind that the only time someone REALLY stacked the nominees was Mike nominating Sherri and Nichole, and that totally backfired.
The only way this would increase the power is if someone had a large enough, and strong enough, alliance to guarantee a victory in the voting. Such an alliance couldn't last long because they'd have to start eating their own very quickly. |

I think a phone vote (or something) when it get down to 3 is a good idea. Let US choose who will get booted at that point, leaving the final 2 for the rest of the HG to decide who get 1st and 2nd place.
Since BB has refused to let us know how it will go and insists no rules have been, or will be changed, there still is a possiblility this could happen, right? |

Sharktrager - Your idea is nice, but what I would like is for the HOH to be chosen by the viewing public. That way they could participate in the game without actually nominating or evicting anyone. Any drawbacks? |

Hey....THIS would be fun:
HOH nominates 2 people
AFTER the nominations are announced a 50/50 game of chance is played (say a coin toss for the sake of argument)
Heads - the non-evictee becomes HOH
Tails - the next HOH is chosen at another competition a week later as it has been done every week this year.
It would be fun seeing how the HOH would choose his nominations then....he could make an instant enemy that had great power, or chance nominating a friend with no guaranteed power at all. Since that "HOH-as-evictee" decision would be a game of chance, it could possibly never happen....no one would know until after the fact.
Just a thought.... |

My idea was to have ALL hgs make their nominations (giving sometimes more than 2 o 3 up for banishment, like last year) then the HOH puts the deciding eviction vote. That's real power.
The vote for the winner of BB2 would be decided by the public. |
