I have really enjoyed BB2 and especially this discussion board. BUT it is hard for me to feel too much empathy for ANY of the hgs that have been bashed. Unless they are from another planet they knew full well that their every move would be under intense scrutiny.

I know that I am not the "brightest" star in the sky but I sure wouldn't want to have to endure the same scrutiny in my own life! I ASSume that the hgs weighed the exposure they would get against the negatives and decided they could live with it! Anyhoo, good luck to all of them and their 15 minutes of fame!

There are a couple of houseguests that are not intelligent enough to have thought things out....all they saw was the 1/2 million carrot dangling, and they jumped right in with both feet.

Others saw fame...at any cost.

If you go on The Weakest Link and Ann goes off on you will you be surprised? If you sign up for Fear Factor and have to eat something horrendous will you be upset? Hopefully not because you would be smart enough to know going in that's how it works. If you don't do your homework when you are making a life changing decision like being in the Big Brother house you deserve what you get, both bad and good. No one will hand you a half million dollars for nothing.

Bellyache,

I half agree with you. I have no empathy for any of the HG who have been bashed.

You wrote: "I ASSume that the HGs weighed the exposure they would get against the negatives and decided they could live with it!"

I do not feel the most of the HG gave anywhere near that level of analytical thought to this game. Anyone in the house complaining of endless of boredom did not watch last year's show, or just didn't think about the hours involved.

Most of these HG got as far as Mike went with Mike's ability to think. Mike's own words are that he thought "This could be fun". Once the word fun was used, Mike stopped thinking because that was enough for him. That is the level of thought a 5 year can express, not the level of thought a 28+ year old should use.

These folks did not show that they had the ability to think at an adult level for their mental preparation for the game. Arnold saw that inability in this group and that's why these were most of the 12 selected from the final 40. Arnold did not want 12 adults in the house.

For an example of thinking, Kent got in because Kent knew Arnold was looking for a gay basher. Kent played the game in the preparation and Kent got in. Kent also stayed in the car for a measly hour and a half to win a $30,000 car. That was thinking on Kent's part. Sheryl got in because Arnold did need an adult thinking female in the house.
