7/20/04 Episode 5 - After a recap of the previous episode - we see Jack standing at the plane with five women - he must eliminated one before they fly off.  He saves Natalie, Cortney, Maria, and the newcomer Meri-de - Adriane is eliminated.

Jack says that he and Adriene did not have the passion to take things to the next level.  Adriene seems to agree.  Cortney tells the camera that its unfair that an outsider took one of her friend's spots.

The group heads off to Perth - at the hotel they must choose roomates - Cortney chooses Meri-De so Maria and Natalie pair up as well.  Jack heads off for a make-over.
 

All the girls are so excited to be in a hotel room with all the ammenities they have been missing.  The girls discover they share a balcony and celebrate some more - they break out the champaign.  Meri-de is just as excited as the other girls. The girls go looking for Jack and find him.  The take him to a spa and he gets in a robe to match the girls. The entire group goes into a room and all lay down on beds for the makeover. Step 1 - Exfoliations.... Jack says it was like rubbing up against a bloody tree.

Step 2 - Skin Firming.... Seaweed solution is fubbbed all over Jack and the girls.
Step 3 - Brow Trimming - Jack hollers as hairs are pulled,
Step 4 - Facials....
Step 5 - Body Waxing.... a patch on Jack's lower back is removed - the girls get to pull the wax off - Jack manges to not even flinch.
Step 6 - Massage, Pedicure & Manicure.

Later on we see Maria sneak down to Jack's room for some alone time (the other girls don't know).

On what appears to be the next day - we are told everyone is going shopping and then each girl will have a private date with Jack.  Maria says no one knows she went to visit him the night before and she wants to keep it that way.

On the group shopping Mari-De comments that Maria always monopolizes Jacks time.  Cortney feels that Maria is playing a bit of a game when she pulls Jack away from the group.

Maria's date is first - she takes Jack out and they do yoga together - she reveals that she and Jack did not get as close the night before as she would have liked.  They do kiss on the date but Jack doesn't seem to be as in to it as Jack.

Natalie and Cortney are shown in the hotel (looks like the night before) questioning Maria's motives.

The next date is Jack and Meri-de who go on a picnic in a park.  Jack implies that things are getting a bit closer with Meri-de - and they exchange a few small pecks.

Third up is Cortney - she takes Jack to a meal were they have a 360 degree view of the city.  The date seems pretty romantic and Jack tells the camera each girl he is with feels like "the one" at the moment - they exchange kisses - their first from the sounds of it.

Lastly is Natalie's date which takes place at what Natalie calls a club/gallery.  Jack asks her is she has feelings for Jack and she tells him she does - she opens up to him.  They kiss but nothing extremely romantic.

As the show goes to commercial we see Marissa talking about coming back on the show - that the ladies will need to watch out.

JD meets the group back at the hotel and informs the group that they will head back to the outback in the morning - he also tells them that Jack will have to eliminate one woman in the morning.

JD  Meets just the girls in the morning and offers one of them a chance to stay in the city - thus not having to make Jack eliminate one of them.  They get 2 weeks of pampering in the city.  JD holds out a key to the hotel room they would stay in.... then he tells them he will come back in one hour to see if one of them chooses to stay.

All three girls consider the option.....they all see the pro's of why they might do it.  When JD returns he asks the ladies  - who are now partitioned off with a key in front of each of them on a pillow - they have 10 seconds and the first one to pick up the key gets to stay.....

and of course we get a commercial

All four girls are shown walking out to meet Jack - JD reveals the offer that was made - each woman has to tell Jack what they chose..

Natalie did not take it the key..
Cortney did not take it...
Meri-De did not take it..
Maria did not take it..

So Jack must still eliminate one of the women...

Meri-De is safe..
Maria is safe...
Natalie is safe...
Cortney is eliminated.. (bummer - she was my favorite of the remaining girls)

After a tearful farewell the remaining 3 women head back to the outback with Jack.  Things get right back to normal with Jack killing bugs for the ladies.

In the morning Natalie shows that there were bugs up her nose (ick!!).

JD arrives - the ladies are not happy - and then he introduces Marrisa - who walks in looking perfect.  Natalie and Maria look very unhappy - <eri-de of course does not know her.  Jack says he is very happy she is back,
